Soccer Tryouts (Competitive)

âš˝ What to Expect From Competitive (Travel) Soccer

Competitive / travel soccer is designed for players who want to take their game to the next level. At Falcons United, this program focuses on player development, higher-level competition, and building strong character on and off the field.

Families can expect a more committed, structured soccer experience—while still being part of a supportive, community-first environment.

🔥 Higher-Level Training

Travel players receive training that is faster, more technical, and more tactical than recreational soccer.

Expect:

Skill-based sessions (passing, first touch, ball mastery, finishing)

Position-specific development

Small-sided and full-field training

Coaching that pushes players to grow

đź“… Consistent Practice Schedule

Competitive soccer requires a bit more commitment.

Travel teams typically practice 3 days per week during the season.

Players are expected to attend practices regularly, arrive ready to work, and maintain a positive team attitude.

⚔️ Stronger Competition

Travel teams compete against higher-level opponents from across the region.

Families can expect:

Weekly league games

Tournament opportunities

A faster, more physical, more tactical style of play

This environment helps players improve quickly and prepares them for future competitive soccer.

🌟 Player Expectations

Travel players are expected to:

Work hard and stay coachable

Show good sportsmanship

Support teammates

Put in effort both in training and at home

Communicate and be committed to the team

*** Parent expectations:

Model respect at games

Support the team culture by staying positive

🏆 Development Comes First

While we play to win, Falcons United believes development matters most.

Success is measured by:

Skills improving

Confidence growing

Players understanding the game

Teams playing better soccer over time

Effort

đź’™ Community and Cost

Most clubs charge $1,200–$2,000 per year for travel soccer…

Falcons United does it differently.

Our mission is to provide free, high-quality competitive soccer for every player—because every child deserves the chance to compete, grow, and shine.
